It's hot!

Since we are in the middle of summer, what about some ice-cold ice-cream! An ice-cream maker will make it easier to make your own, but I have found that you could just as easily make it without one.
Here I have a simple recipe for Chocolate Nutella Ice-cream, and all you have to do is to remember to mix it after a few hours in the freezer, to prevent the ice cystals from forming. This recipe doesn't have a lot of water in it (meaning: lots of CREAM!!!), so it works well without a machine.
On the other hand, I see ice-cream-making-machines just about everywhere these days, so maybe you could treat yourself with one this summer...
Chocolate Nutella ice-cream
315ml Cream
2 Tablespoons Cocoa
100g Dark chocolate
2 Tablespoons Nutella
1 Tablespoons Coffee liqueur
3 Egg yolks
165ml Milk
1/4 Cup Sugar
pinch of salt
Heat about half a cup of cream with the cocoa in a saucepan, whisk untill the cocoa is dissolved. Heat untill just before boiling point. Remove from heat, add the chocolate and stir untill melted. Add the Nutella and stir well. Pour into a bowl and stir in the rest of the cream and the coffee liqueur.
Lightly beat the egg yolks. Heat the milk, sugar and salt together untill sugar is dissolved and mixture is almost at boiling point. Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg yolks while whisking continuously. Throw the mixture back into the saucepan and heat, stirring constantly, untill the mixture thickens.
Strain it through a sieve into the chocolate mixture and stir. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate untill the mixture is completely cold. Process this mixture in an ice-cream machine, or put it in the freezer and stir every hour untill frozen.
Enjoy:)
